Teachers Participate in Fun Summer Robotics Training and Competition

WHO:
Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) Elementary, Middle and High School Teachers and District Staff

WHAT:
Approximately 30 BCPS teachers who serve as robotics coaches are getting a head start on the upcoming school year. This week, they headed back to class to learn about the new VEX robots and robotics games that will be featured in student competitions in the 2025/26 school year. As a culminating activity for their four-day training, the coaches will design, build and drive their robots as they participate in a friendly scrimmage!

WHY:
Each year, the Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation unveils new robotics challenges and games for the upcoming school year. The training, organized by the Applied Learning STEM + Computer Science Department, provides an opportunity for the District’s robotics coaches to learn how to design and build the robots, as well as practice the skills needed for competition, so they can better assist their students.
